COME SHARE THE LOVE OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST

You Are Invited

I am Bishop Todd Bell and along with the community of Saint Matthias, I wish to welcome you and share the love of our Lord Jesus Christ with all we come in contact with. Spreading the Good News of salvation and anxiously awaiting His coming in glory!

The Community of Saint Matthias is committed to an inclusive approach, void of barriers between God and His people. Christ ministered to those in need, rather than those who were in “good standing” under the “law”. Christ more often than not was found in the company of the “untouchables”, healing the sick, giving sight to the blind and ministering to forbidden people such as the Samaritan woman.

The Church must minister to people through love and kindness; not fear and heavy handedness. We seek to do this through equality, justice and truth. This is done through strengthening with an understanding of God’s Holy Scriptures, renewal within the Holy Eucharist and an openness to the Holy Spirit as He speaks to and through His people.

“Salvation Is Not A Mystery”Within the Gospels, we hear people asking Jesus, “what must I do” to be saved or to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. The answers from Jesus are consistent: listen to the Word of God and follow Him. Living in the Messianic Age allows us to live in a time where there is no mystery to Salvation. We know what God expects of us, and we know who He is because He came to earth and, upon His leaving, gave us His Holy Spirit. The question of “what” and “how” now has firm, tested, and true answers. The Lord has made known His salvation.Sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done wondrous deeds; His right hand has won victory for him,his holy arm.R. The Lord has made known his salvation. The LORD has made his salvation known:in the sight of the nations he has revealed his justice. He has remembered his kindness and his faithfulnesstoward the house of Israel.R. The Lord has made known his salvation. All the ends of the earth have seenthe salvation by our God.Sing joyfully to the LORD, all you lands;break into song; sing praise.R. The Lord has made known his salvation.Sing praise to the LORD with the harp, with the harp and melodious song. With trumpets and the sound of the hornsing joyfully before the King, the LORD.R. The Lord has made known his salvation. ... See MoreSee Less

“A New Temple”In today’s Psalm, we are reminded of God’s choice to make Mount Zion the place of His Holy Temple. The Israelites made it the pinnacle of their worship of God. Jesus promised the disciples that He would send the Spirit to them to fill them with His presence. We have become the Temple of the Holy Spirit, the home of Almighty God. We no longer need to go to the Temple and offer sacrifice; our lives have become the living sacrifice that joins God and man.His foundation upon the holy mountains the LORD loves:The gates of Zion, more than any dwelling of Jacob.R. Glorious things are told of you, O city of God.Glorious things are said of you, O city of God!And of Zion they shall say: “One and all were born in her;And he who has established her is the Most High LORD.”R. Glorious things are told of you, O city of God.They shall note, when the peoples are enrolled: “This man was born there.”And all shall sing, in their festive dance: “My home is within you.”R. Glorious things are told of you, O city of God. ... See MoreSee Less

“Receive The Holy Spirit”Too many times, people receive the Holy Spirit the same way they receive a fruit cake at Christmas. They smile, say Thank you, and place it on the shelf. Today is Pentecost Sunday, and we celebrate today as the birthday of the Church. It is so much more than that, though. Today is the day that all the ministry Jesus had done was brought to life. The promises that He had made were fulfilled and His life in humanity was revealed. The disciples were not ready, but they were prepared. The people were amazed, and they came to believe. How can we relive the joy and excitement of Pentecost today? We can live our lives with the expectation of the Lord using us to do His will. Let us surrender our lives to Him and await His glory. When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled, they were all in one place together. And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were. Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them. And they were all filled with the holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim. ... See MoreSee Less

“Songs Of Celebration”Sacred Scripture tells us that all of Heaven rejoices when one soul comes to accept Jesus as Lord. How is it that all too often man takes credit for the mighty work of God? Man does not have the power to save, but we do have the power to share. We can plant seeds, water the ground, and weed gardens, yet in the end, when the lost come to know the Lord, it is the might work of God that we are witnessing. Let us sing a song of celebration, joining our voices with those of Heaven when a lost soul comes home to the Lord.My mouth shall be filled with your praise, with your glory day by day.Cast me not off in my old age;as my strength fails, forsake me not.R. I will sing of your salvation. But I will always hopeand praise you ever more and more.My mouth shall declare your justice, day by day your salvation.R. I will sing of your salvation.I will treat of the mighty works of the Lord;O God, I will tell of your singular justice.O God, you have taught me from my youth, and till the present I proclaim your wondrous deeds.R. I will sing of your salvation. So will I give you thanks with music on the lyre, for your faithfulness, O my God!I will sing your praises with the harp,O Holy One of Israel!R. I will sing of your salvation. ... See MoreSee Less
